"100 New York Painters", a book by Cynthia Maris Dantzic, is a survey of 100 New York painters (selected by the author) representing a wide range of artists at all stages of their careers. I am thrilled and honored to be included in this edition. Schiffer Publishing is producing the book, which is available from www.schifferbooks.com, the MoMA Bookstore, the Metropolitan Museum Bookstore, the Brooklyn Museum Gift Shop, many local book stores (such as Community Bookstore in Park Slope), www.amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.

During the Rush Kids Summer 2006 program, students worked with Marie Roberts to create their own Rush Kids banner in the style of Marie's spectacular paintings of the Coney Island Freak Show. Marie lead the Rush Kids in preliminary sketches of their own personal banners, the entire group planned our banner composition in a lively brainstorming session and over the course of three days the children painted this 10 x 12 foot banner. The completed banner will be on display in our Rush Kids exhibition in June 2007.

An education program of the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, Rush Kids is a year-round intensive art program. Director of Education Meridith McNeal and an extremely talented group of twenty teaching artists work with small groups of students to introduce children to contemporary art practices. More information is available at www.rushphilanthropic.org.
